Assistant Farm Manager

Salary: AU$85000.00 - AU$115000 per annum + + Super + work ute + house

Our client is an Australian owned and operated rural Asset Management Company with a footprint across Victoria, New South Wales and Southern Queensland, to include cropping, horticulture and livestock properties.

They boast a leading and highly experience management team who are driven to deliver cleaner, safer, and environmentally friendly farming & supply chain operations that are progressive whilst utilising the latest and best technology and innovations available.

The Role

Working alongside with one of the most innovative farm management teams, you will be working on a 9,000-ha mixed-cropping property located only 5 minutes from Hillston assisting with the intensive irrigation operation which comprises of both flood irrigation and overhead irrigation systems.

As the Assistant Farm Manager (2IC), you will provide key support to the Farm Manager in all farming activities and infrastructure. This role will suit a highly motivated individual with a drive for career progression and professional development in the agriculture space.

In this role, your duties will include but not be limited to -

  • Implement 'Best Practice' agricultural systems and standards to support crop production operations
  • Co-ordinate operations including hands on work on a range of tractors and tractor-drawn machinery during preparation, planting, in crop application & harvest
  • Oversee contracted farming operations within targeted operation timelines
  • Assist in general farm duties and machinery maintenance as required
  • Develop key benchmarking targets with a passion to strive to improve the efficiency of the cropping operation
  • Implement all WH&S procedures and protocols while maintaining high farm hygiene standards


With proven experience in overseeing farm operations, you will have an ambition to work on improving all aspects of the agri-business to be a leader. To be successful in this role, you will have -

  • Current Driver's license
  • Previous experience in utilizing new farming technologies including Goanna Ag, AgWorld Field Net and John Deere to name a few
  • Understanding of water resource management and drainage systems
  • Organizational skills: communication skills, time management, working in a team and independently
  • Tertiary qualifications/trade qualifications are regarded but not necessary
