Your Next Role

This position will see you play a key role in this fast paced, start-up environment within an international agribusiness.

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the finance and accounts functions to deliver all financial, regulatory and management reporting requirements. You will provide business partnering as well as providing support to the commercial team across capex, business case preparation and assistance with production and logistics costings.

This role will also see you delivering effective, timely financial accounting support across audit pack preparation, tax returns and general reporting.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to -

  • Preparing month-end reporting pack for management, including profit and loss and balance sheet with insightful commentary
  • Prepare statutory accounts and manage relationship with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Monitor actual operational and capital expenditure and analyse, investigate and report on variances, initiating corrective actions where necessary
  • Manage and track production costs and variances within the SAP system
  • Working closely with our site-based stakeholders you will be analysing financial and operational information along with providing advice and accounting services to assist Management to make informed decisions in relation to the operation of the site.
  • Be an active member of the management team by partnering with all business managers. Support preparation of capex proposals, dashboards and operational reports
  • Initiate improvements to systems and processes to achieve optimal partnership between the business and finance team

About You

Our ideal candidate will come with a well-established finance and accounting background as well as strong exposure to the FMCG, manufacturing or agriculture industries. You will be able to effectively communicate with key stakeholders across the business.

Coupled with a proven background in the planning and reporting cycles of a complete operating business unit, you will be able to interpret financial information while leading a high-performing team.

To be successful in this role, it is important that you can address the following -

  • Relevant tertiary education in Commerce/Accounting
  • 5 + years of experience within a large corporate or professional services firm
  • Ability to lead, nurture and mentor a team
  • CA/CPA qualified (preferred)
  • Experience in manufacturing or agriculture would be highly regarded
