The Role

We are pleased to represent our client in their search for an efficient and driven SHE Manager.

Based in either Dalby or Toowoomba, you will be responsible for the effective management of the Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) processes across Australia. Driving continuous improvement to the SHE and Process Safety (PS) culture, you will lead the strategy to develop and implement efficient injury prevention and SHE and PS programs.

Providing advice and guidance on all SHE related issues to stakeholders, you will also monitor and consult with key stakeholders relating to the coronavirus pandemic in Australia. Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Facilitate audits including HRA (high risk activity) SAT (self-assessment tool)
  • Maintaining audit register
  • Ensure maintenance and accuracy of appropriate safety and health records
  • Weekly, monthly and annual reporting of the SHE performance and key performance indicators
  • Deliver a high level of analytical and reporting services to the regional SHE and PS function
  • Maintain accident and incident reports, analyse and report on causes and trends
  • Ensure legislative and regulatory compliance and liaise with government and regulatory bodies
  • Facilitate, coordinate and chair safety meetings
  • Ensure all Australian sites and officers, operations and operators are compliant with and trained to company and local regulatory requirements for SHE and PS
  • Hazardous chemicals management
  • Administer, maintain, implement and report the SHE site induction, training and committee programs for each office and operating facility
  • Assist with the induction and training of industrial employees
  • Lead SHE Engagement Summary for Australian Industry
  • Conduct incident investigations
  • Lead and assess on SHE and PS incidents, SHE Observations, investigations, continuous improvements, action planning

Your Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate has proven experience in a similar role with tertiary qualifications in WHS or training and assessment. With extensive safety auditing knowledge, you'll also have a strong understanding of SHE and PS practices and relevant state and federal legislation.

With safety committee experience and proven success in risk management situations, to be considered for the role, it's important you can prove the following:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior SHE role
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS/training or assessment (highly regarded)
  • Workplace Rehabilitation Coordinator/ Auditor accreditation (highly regarded)
  • Extensive safety audit experience
  • Advanced level of competency with MS Suite and ability to learn other software systems
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of SHE management systems (including process safety)
  • Extensive incident investigation experience
  • Safety committee experience
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses in processes and implement best practices
  • Proven success in risk management situations
