Our client is a leading Australian business in agriculture who are currently looking to fill a vacancy in their poultry operation in South Australia. Our client is extremely experienced within the agricultural industry and has proven success in poultry production. They are paving the way as industry leaders with the adoption of innovative software and automated data collection and raising the bar on best practice procedures.
Reporting directly to the Farm Manager you will play an integral part in leading a team of staff to manage a group of 12 Free Range sheds and over 500,000 birds in Blanchetown, South Australia.
You will be hands on and lead by example, managing all aspects of poultry production. You will have aspirations to grow in your role as there is clear structured progression. Your duties will include (but not limited to):
Leading, coaching and motivating staff on the ground
Managing feed, water and animal health including vaccinations
Maintain and operate farm equipment and resources
Monitor animal welfare and production quality
Actively promote a safe and productive company culture
Your Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar position or a background in poultry and be looking to embrace working at this technologically advanced facility. The ideal candidate will display:
Previous experience in a similar role OR exceptional leadership qualities
Very strong communication both written and verbal
The ability to adopt new industry technologies
An ability to follow instructions and be on the ground managing a group of staff
Knowledge on industry standards - biosecurity, WHS, animal welfare
