Agri Talent is pleased to announce that Marcela Rocha-Lima has joined the team as a Recruitment Consultant.

A qualified agronomist and agricultural engineer with decades of experience across a range of commodities, with a focus on horticulture, Marcela’s deep technical expertise stands to benefit Agri Talent clients searching for people to fill technical roles in their agribusiness.

Whilst studying for her university degree and throughout her career, Marcela has gained technical experience working with a wide variety of commodities, including avocados, bananas, leafy vegetables, flowers and coffee.

“I’m looking forward to this new, exciting opportunity to combine my technical experience and my passion for connecting with people. I have had the privilege of living in many countries and working across diverse operations, and I know the skill sets and attitudes that farm operators need in their technical staff.”

Marcela has lived and worked in several different countries, including Australia, Brazil, the United States and the Netherlands, and has maintained the connections made on her travels.

“Having lived and worked in different places, I’ve experienced a range of agribusiness operations which I know will translate into my understanding of Agri Talent clients’ technical staffing requirements and ability to identify the right people for each role.”

With experience from an operation with a single two-hectare flower glass house in the Netherlands to a leading Australian company managing and operating farms and horticultural properties on a national scale, Marcela brings a broad range of experience to the team.

“Communicating with people is a strength of mine. In my previous agronomist role, I was in regular communication with people from all walks of life, from other agronomists and farm managers to property buyers and the executive board.”

Marcela’s experience has also given her an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing businesses as they navigate the permanent recruitment process.

“Finding people who are actually passionate and curious about what they’re doing is a big challenge, and it’s important, because if you’re not passionate, you’ll give up.”

The Agri Talent team is delighted to welcome Marcela to the business, and we can’t wait to see what she will achieve in her new role.
